When I was 7 years old, I told my Dad, “If only I could have a supporting device for stringed musical instruments that has a plate that rests upon my leg, leaving both hands free to explore the musical instrument as never before.”
“What would you do with it, son?” wondered my father aloud.
“Why, I’d play the guitar like a mutha’ f-in riot,” I retorted.
Mr. Edward L. Van Halen filed US Patent number 4656917 that very year. It was July 30th, 1985.
